Duffy’s Dog Training Center, powered by WhiteFangVentures, is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Humane Society of Oldham County (HSOC) and the Kentucky State Reformatory (KSR). HSOC is currently rescuing dogs and placing them with inmate-handlers for rehabilitation at KSR.

These dogs are trained in Manners and Basic Obedience, using Matthew Duffy’s book, Ten Natural Steps to Training the Family Dog. The overall goal is to have the dogs achieve a Ten Natural Steps training certificate, as well as the American Kennel Club’s, Canine Good Citizen Award.

A select group of these dogs will receive further training as Therapy and Service animals. A number of the Service dogs will be placed with wounded veterans, or First Responders through the Dogs Helping Heroes organization (dogshelpingheroes.org). We are very excited about this new relationship, and we are looking forward to working with all of the dogs, as well as their new handlers.
